About Me

Oh hello.  I didn’t see you there.

This blog has morphed as my life has changed.  It started mostly about books and writing.  And while I still do write posts about books and writing I use more page space on my life and it’s happenings.

I live in a small Montana town.  This is where I honed my skills of walking on trails sans falling (usually, but still lots of tripping), falling over in the snow while my feet are strapped onto long narrow things that are supposed to make going downhill fast, jumping off slow moving boats into water, making fun of people and myself (it always comes across as just plain rude when written…), eating chocolate, and ignoring everything around me while becoming completely immersed in a fictional world.

This past year has been a year of changes.  I got married (whoop, whoop!).  Our daughter turned two (and has recently started potty training (not so whoop, whoop)).  I’m pregnant (will become a whoop, whoop post delivery).  I graduated nursing school with the tremendous support of my family, in particular my husband, who not only made all the money for the family, but was also the stay-at-home-dad, and did all the cleaning and cooking…I did come home sporadically for emotional breakdowns and short naps.  Plus we just moved back to my hometown, which makes me immensely happy (hello grandparents!).

I feel like this upcoming is going to be just as crazy as the last.  Do they ever get less crazy?

Drop me a line.  Or make fun of me.  I don’t really know how to relate to people who don’t make fun of me.  Or send me chocolate.  Or spinach.  I really like both.  But not right now, spinach makes this pregnant lady super queasy.

updating this soon…

  1. I came by to say thank you for the follow and to meet you. You have a wonderful blog! We have Flash Fiction in common and a writing friend too (Madison Woods). See you again soon. 🙂

  2. Hi Miq. Great name. Is it short for something?

Pete Denton also nominated me for The Versatile Blogger award. I wanted to stop by your blog to say hello and offer my congratulations to you on your nomination!

  3. Your chocolate banana bread post caught my attention, so I decided to check out your “About” section. I’m not much of a follower. I tend to pick & choose and move on, especially in the anonymous world of the web! Even posting something to someone’s page is pretty unusual for me, but something here just makes me think we would be friends in the real world. Since I’m pretty picky on that score too, I had to post something! I’ll be making banana bread soon, and following your blog (as well as a non-follower like me can). I look forward to what you have to share!

      • Half a blender cup of frozen spinach, the other half with fruit (I usually use 3 different kinds, banana makes it creamy). I use chilled green tea for the liquid. A spoon of raw cacao powder (I also add maca powder and chia seeds). Voila. An uber healthy chocolate smoothie that tastes great.
